The community of Superior is located between Denver and Boulder on the US-35 turnpike. Superior real estate enjoys a long and interesting history. The area that today is known as Superior real estate was originally developed during the final decades of the nineteenth century as a coal mining settlement. In 1896, the town was founded, and by 1904 it was incorporated. Superior gets its name from the reputation for the “superior” coal that was found in the area.
The last of the coal mines in this town closed in 1945. The population dwindled, going as low as 250 residents for decades. In recent years, however, people have rediscovered this area and today there are around 12,000 residents in the town. Many live in the largest residential development in the town, Rock Creek Ranch. Today, it is the Superior real estate that brings people in.
There are many single family dwellings in Superior, as well as duplexes, condominiums and other multi-family dwellings. Superior real estate features nearly 600 acres of parks, and boasts 27 miles of hiking or biking trails. Superior is a town on the move, with plans to increase commercial and retail development, as well as more homes including multi-family and single family homes. With access to the Denver Metro and Boulder regions, Superior residents enjoy small town living with nearby big city amenities.
